UK wrestler Klondyke Kate has many memories of the late Luna Vachon. After Luna left WWE she toured the UK on several occasions alongside then husband Gangrel, appearing for All-Star Wrestling in front of packed crowds around the country.

A battle between Luna and Kate was always one fans enjoyed but one encounter for the World Hardcore Championship and Kate tells the full story of that match in Edition 2 of 'Fighting Females' available in the downloads section of this issue.   Suffice to say Kate won't forget that match as Luna hit her with a crowbar, fire extinguisher and a road sign and then suffered a knee/leg injury that put her in plaster for three months on her way to winning the title

Here, Kate pays tribute to Luna who wasn't just an opponent in the ring but a friend outside.

"I wrestled Luna Vachon many times here in the UK and found her to be an awesome wrestler and an amazing person to know. I hadn't realised but we were the same age by a couple of months and she said she had followed my career from when she started hers in 1985. I'd been wrestling then for eight years and she was one of the few women wrestlers I respect to this day and I had watched her career closely too.

We became good friends exchanging soemthing we each had around our necks which happened to be silver crosses. I still have mine that I keep wrapped up preciously in my special memory box and I will keep it forever.

A huge light has gone out in women's pro wrestling and I for one will miss her brightness, her kindness and her funny ways. I know there will never be another like her and she will be sadly missed. RIP Trudy Vachon xxx
