The formation of the Female Fight League (FFL) was announced at the recent meeting of the Cauliflower Alley Club. The league is headed by ChickFight founder Jason Deadrich and Melissa Anderson (aka Cheerleader Melissa) and Stephane Bruyere, co-founder of NCW Femme Fatales. The league is described by Jason Deadrich as "a collaborative organization dedicated to bring respect back to women's professional wrestling" and to "bring women's wrestling to a new plateau."
Support and resources will be given to members for their respective women's divisions Current members are: ChickFight, Pro Wrestling: Eve who hold their debut show in the UK on May 8th ,
I asked Dann Read, promoter of Pro Wrestling: EVE how important he thought the FFL will be for women's wrestling around the world. He told me "Very. The closest analogy I can make of FFL is that it's similar in effect to the NWA of years gone by. A lot of details are still being worked on and I'm honoured to be a part of that procedure and to have the first show under the FFL banner but the main thing is we're all working together helping to further expose the womens wrestling scene to a bigger audience. It's truly about being worldwide and exposing the great female wrestling talent that is out there."
In an interview with SLAMWrestling.com Melissa Anderson said that the FFL was "it's going to be a female version of the NWA" and spoke of the frustration that female wrestlers have at present.

Interview with Jason Deadrich
Why do you feel the Female Fight League is so needed in the world of women's wrestling at present, especially in terms of bring back respect to the sport?
As a promoter of female wrestling for over a decade, I have intimately witnessed the roller coaster ride of being a fan of women's wrestling. Just when you think WWE and TNA are moving in the right direction, they throw a curve ball and release their top talents. It's very difficult being a fan of female wrestling today and even harder to be a promoter. Getting the word out and showcasing the amazing talent that is working hard all around the world like Sara Del Rey, Melissa Anderson and MsChif without relying on mainstream wrestling is what we are setting out to do.
How will the FFL help companies and individuals around the world?
The FFL will assist female promotions worldwide by providing valuable resources and support. With brands like Online World of Wrestling, Diva-Dirt and ClickWrestle as part of our family, we have a global reach and can help get the word out like none other. In addition, by creating an organization which all the top female promotions are part of, we are able to work together to minimize conflicting schedules and increase the amount of bookings for the wrestlers.
What do you think are the major problems that need to be addressed in the world of women's wrestling at present?
The major problems facing women's wrestling today are all related to limited resources and funding. There are some wonderful female wrestling events going on around the world every weekend, but due to expenses, it is hard for a promoter to make a national or worldwide impact. Unfortunately, today the WWE and TNA are focused on a "Diva-product" and are looking for cheap ratings by putting their wrestlers in sexist situations. When Wrestlicious a new women's promotion was recently announced, the fans were eager to watch and see women get their chance to shine. Instead of taking advantage of the medium, the Wrestlicious team chose to put on a comedy-act, much to the dismay of fans.
Women's wrestling deserves respect and we will do everything in our power to bring it back.
